Choosing the right hosting provider for your WordPress website is extremely important. But there are SO many out there, how do you know which one is the best?
Regardless of which host you choose, there are 3 important things to keep in mind. These factors should guide who you choose:
- Speed – also referred to as “load time” or how long it takes your website to fully load on a screen
- Uptime – the percentage of time your website is up. This should to be at least 99.94% (sites will go down typically once a month for server maintenance and restarts).
- Customer Support – they should help you with WordPress related questions as well as general hosting support.
Though we obviously can’t tell you who to choose, we can make a few suggestions based on our experience. Below are two hosting providers we highly recommend:
Bluehost is one of three hosts specifically recommended by WordPress and is one of the most popular WordPress website hosting services. They have very inexpensive introductory prices and it’s simple to use (one-click install for WordPress). It our experience, they have very little, if any, performance issues.
Many of the client sites we build are hosted on Bluehost and we have been very happy.
SiteGround is also one of the three WordPress officially-recommended hosting platforms. They are fast, secure and have very good customer and technical support.
Overall, SiteGround hosting ranks near the top of all web hosting companies. All plans come with a CDN, SSL certificate, and email accounts.
